Change in our family has always been a constant force.
From the very beginning, as a newly married couple, Roy and I embarked on one of our greatest adventures. We chose to move to Portugal in 1990. We hoped to discover a new way of life and learn from a different culture. We wanted to face challenges and establish ourselves as a couple and a family.
Portugal gave us, and continues to give us, lifelong friendships, courage, and hope.
After eight and half years, we were a little older and possibly wiser. We faced the reality that we would need to change direction. A different path led us back to the UK.
Practicalities such jobs, education, and supporting our young family were our priorities. We never turned our back on the adventure. The foundations we had built gave us opportunities for the future. At the time, we never imagined these opportunities.
Our house became a sanctuary for holidays, Christmas, Easters and long warm summers. We shared family moments and life changing events with family and friends.
We always promised we would return our first house, which we had lovingly restored, and created over the years
Now over 25 years later, we’ve come back again to new beginnings.
The ‘Boa vista’ of the Serra De Montejunto had been our backdrop landscape over the years.
Now, it is the stage for our new project.
