Harvest 2023

Our second Harvest was complicated. We spent the first year making gradual discoveries about the land and how to care for it. Each vineyard has a unique composition, soil, trellising, altitude and inclination all play a part in how you maintain the vineyard throughout the year. We focused entirely on learning how to control weeds, and the canopy management before moving forwards.

This harvest was made more difficult as we did not have a site in which to produce the wines. With this in mind, we decided to sell the grapes, and send our winemaker to go sabbatical taking part in another harvest with a Custom Crush winery in the Douro.

This winery worked with a vast number of sites to achieve a vast number of goals for each customer. While Harry was working hard and learning as much as he could, the rest of the family were learning how intense a harvest can be. It was a long two months for everyone involved, but at the end we were ready to decide the direction we would take to achieve the wine we wanted.
